Wired MCECS networking on the West side of EB 4th floor will be down starting at 1pm, Saturday, August 2nd. The West side also includes some offices in Suite 400/402. During this time, we will be replacing network hardware that supports that area. It is an extended downtime and could last until 5pm. Wifi in the area will not be affected. [Cee-grad-students] EB 325 Computer Lab CLOSED - July 26 through July 30

We will be closing down the EB 325 Computer Lab for carpet cleaning. This will require the dismantling and move of all the computers and also adjusting tables. We expect to begin shutting down the lab on Saturday, July 26th. The cleaners should be finished by Tuesday morning and we hope to have the lab re-assembled by the end of Wednesday, July 30th. [Cee-grad-students] DOWNTIME: Friday, 7/11/2025 - 6PM, Windows Servers

There will be REBOOTS of all MCECS supported Windows Servers at 6 PM on Friday, July 11th, 2025. This work should be completed by 7 PM. This will include the Windows Homedirs, access to Stashes, Printing, Networked Applications and Network Licenses. This work is needed to ensure that Windows Updates have been applied to our Servers. It is best to logout from your Windows account prior to that time. Patches will be released for CAT supported Windows Workstations on Wednesday (7/9/2025). Desktops that have not been patched should reboot for patches at 6 PM Friday evening. This work is not expected to affect any Linux systems. [Cee-grad-students] DOWNTIME: 7/9/2025 - 8pm - CAT supported Ubuntu Linux Systems for patches

Expect reboots and outages of most user-facing Linux login systems starting at 8pm on Wednesday, July 8th as we apply some patches. Unless we run into problems, the work should conclude by 9pm. Systems affected include: - ada/babbage - quizors - ruby/rita - linux lab systems (CS Penguin, CS Particle, FAB 55-17 Linux) - other linux desktops Windows systems and services should not be affected by this downtime.
