[Cee-grad-students] REMINDER - Brief power outage will happen at 7pm on Sunday, Oct 19
by Janaka Jayawardena 17 Oct '25

17 Oct '25
As we had announced earlier, technicians will be on site to turn off one of the feeds to the building so that PGE can do maintenance. This work may result in a very brief outage to some parts of FAB/EB as they failover to the other feed. This could affect some computer labs, research spaces, and offices. The work is expected to be done around 7pm. I will send another spam when we get the all clear that the work is done. Remember there will be a repeat of this event on Oct 28th (a Tuesday) at 9:30pm. The data center and other UPS backed up regions will not be affected. -- Janaka Jayawardena IT Director - MCECS _______________________________________________ Allofthem mailing list -- allofthem(a)lists.cecs.pdx.edu To unsubscribe send an email to allofthem-leave(a)lists.cecs.pdx.edu

[Cee-grad-students] DOWNTIME: Friday, 10/17/2025 - 6PM, Windows Servers
by Janaka Jayawardena 15 Oct '25

15 Oct '25
There will be REBOOTS of all MCECS supported Windows Servers at 6 PM on Friday, October 17th, 2025. This work should be completed by 7 PM. This will include the Windows Homedirs, access to Stashes, Printing, Networked Applications and Network Licenses. This work is needed to ensure that Windows Updates have been applied to our Servers. It is best to logout from your Windows account prior to that time. Patches will be released for CAT supported Windows Workstations on Wednesday (10/15/2025). Desktops that have not been patched should reboot for patches at 6 PM Friday evening. The few remaining users of Windows 10 systems should note that this will be your last month of patching. If your systems are not upgraded to Windows 11 by the next patch cycle, they will be quarantined from the network. This work is not expected to affect any Linux systems. As always if you have questions please contact: support(a)cecs.pdx.edu -- Janaka Jayawardena IT Director - MCECS _______________________________________________ Allofthem mailing list -- allofthem(a)lists.cecs.pdx.edu To unsubscribe send an email to allofthem-leave(a)lists.cecs.pdx.edu
